ELECTRONICS INDUSTRIES ASSOCIATION
OF THE PHILIPPINES, INC.

EIAPI was established in 1986 by a group of young Filipino entrepreneurs engaged in the electronics business to promote the development of the Philippine electronics industry with emphasis on locally developed products.

The association acts as a liaison between its members and the government, the academe, and other industries in the country. EIAPI serves as the collective voice of its members, particularly in articulating common problems and concerns by bringing these to the attention of relevant parties, as well as helping in the formulation of government policies.

EIAPI provides a forum for upgrading the technical, managerial and manufacturing capabilities of its members. In addition, the association also assists its members by creating and/or providing opportunities to broaden their markets.

One of its recent significant projects is the Electronic Product Development Center (EPDC), the first EMC Test Facility in the Philippines equipped with a 10-meter Semi-Anechoic Chamber. It also includes various fabrication, assembly and design facilities for designing and fabricating electronic product prototypes. EIAPI initiated the project and was funded by PCIEERD of DOST and implemented by ASTI with the help of EIAPI members.

EIAPI is also undertaking the development of a Grid-tied Solar Inverter which is also funded by PCIEERD of DOST. This is one of the first electronics R&D projects initiated and undertaken by an industry association with funding from the government. The product will be commercialized by members of the association.

EIAPI members have also been serving in the Electronics technical panel of PCASTRD and now PCIEERD for more than 20 years, helping in the evaluation of R&D proposals from academe and government R&D institutions. Some members are also active in helping DTI in creating the road map for the electronics industry and in formulating policies that promote the growth of the industry.

Over the years, the government and other industry players have already recognized EIAPI as the organization to deal with when it comes to the sector of the local electronics industry involved in the development, design and manufacture of electronic products for both the local and international markets.
